Planet vs. Dwarf Planet - A tour of the Solar System Presented by Jesse Rogerson, PhD Candidate, York University
The Solar System is a much more complicated place than our grade school text books let on. As more space craft travel further and discover more about our Solar System and others, we are forced to reassess the definitions and models we adopt. In this talk, Jesse Rogerson will give a tour of the Solar System, as well as analyze the now infamous reclassification of everybody's favourite Dwarf Planet: Pluto.
What's Up in the Night Sky Presented by Jeff Dutton
This month's What's Up takes us on a tour of celestial objects well placed for viewing between the October and November meetings.
The Whitby Central Library is on the south side of Dundas St at Henry St.

Look for The Durham Region Astronomical Association's booth at the Town of Ajax Pumpkinville. We will have telescopes with solar filters so you can enjoy awesome views of Sunspots and Solar Flares, and a display booth where you can help yourself to our astronomy fact sheets and other literature.

Pumpkinville is held at Greenwood Conservation Area, east off of Westney Road, north of Taunton Road.
