Location: Purple Woods Conservation Area, Oshawa
NOTE: This event is weather permitting. The DRAA will be setting up for this event on Saturdays or Sundays, March 11/12, March 18/19, March 25/26, and April 1/2. The DRAA will once again have telescopes set up at the entrance to the fesitival to provide the public with the opportunity to view solar flares and sun spots on the Sun's surface. This activity is possible with special filters designed for this purpose (never look at the sun with your eyes, binoculars or a telescope without proper filters);.

Knowing and Observing Galaxies

The spring is the best time to observe galaxies because the night sky presents an abundance of these objects to observe at this time of year. This presentation will describe galaxies, how they are classified, and how they can be observed.
